1. Pareto's Principle
- Decathlon use (Pareto's Principle) to keep their primary stock in their warehouse.
- Pareto's principle is 20% of their products and 80% of sales which is sports shoes and textiles.
- In case, the customer needs an expensive product or a minority sport product, they need to order directly from the factory.
2. Lowering the cost
- In terms to reduce the cost, the company sells lightweight products such as textiles and sports shoes, which are the most demanded product.
- Meanwhile, there are several stores that have a few heavies and bulky products.
- The strategy can lead to more space in the warehouse.
- As deliveries of new delivery come in, the warehouse has a designated area where items are sorted and moved into the corresponding warehousing area.
- The warehouse has included items on its shelf life and expiration date, they place the new inventory behind the older inventory.
- The ways to make it easier to move products in an orderly way to avoid having expired or wasted items.
4. Trained Employee
- Employees are required to have the skill to handle the software and procedures that use in warehousing.
- The equipment and tools are always organized and must be returned after use.
- It same happens in the aisles, they are clean and clear the clutter.
